It’s needless to say I love visiting the theme parks and enjoy travel in general, but for most of us traveling can get overwhelmingly expensive- am I right? And we could all agree the hotel may be one of the most expensive parts when it comes to travel. So here is my first tip that you may not be currently doing to cut corners on your travel expenses.
First question- you might want to ask yourself are you a planner, or are you an on the fly type of person? I’m personally in between when it comes to planning trips specifically. Some times my hotel stays are booked months in advance, and well sometimes they are last minute decisions (enter girl shrugging her shoulders here). If you’re the last-minute booking type you might already be using this tip without even realizing it! That’s because hotels tend to lower prices the closer you book towards the date of your stay.
If you’re the planner and always wants to make sure you got your reservations booked ahead of time…no worries this hack can work for you too. How? If you’re visiting a location you know is going to book fast its always safe to book further in advance to lock in your stay, but unfortunately they don’t always have the best prices. The trick is as your trip gets closer to the date call the location of your stay to ask if there are any current promotions during your stay that you can apply- or maybe current rates have gone down, and you can change your reservation if there is availability.
*Note: Before any change is confirmed ALWAYS check with the agent that you are still receiving any special requests or room request with the updated reservation stay.
You guys, I have used this trick a few times and I’ve literally saved $200-300 that I can use towards other expenses for my trip- it’s crazy! Hope this helps you, or if you’ve tried this let me know how your experience was in the comments!

I’ve never tried this but it’s a great idea! I will definitely be trying it the next time I book a hotel! Do you know if it works if you book through third party?

Hey Mayra!
With third parties it works a little different, you usually pay in full upfront and modifications/cancelations work differently. This is more ideal when you book direct. But never hurts to call and try! =)
